Ecosia, the echo friendly search engine

RR

Ecosia is a search engine, just like google. It was founded by Christian Kroll in 2009 to save the world from climate change. The main purpose of Ecosia is to plant trees with the help of us. How can we help? Just by using the Ecosia search engine. Fun right?

Climate change is one of the biggest problems for our beloved earth. But we can't fix the issue so easily. Instead, everything we do makes it even worse, like using motorized vehicles and many factories that add more and more carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. But we can't live without these things as they are now a part of our daily life. So, what can we do to save the earth? Planting trees seems to be a great way. And this is where Ecosia comes to help us to plant trees from home.

Ecosia donates the bulk of its expendable funds to tree-planting organizations around the world. Imagine you're searching for something using Ecosia, and far from you, somewhere in the world, a tree is planted. Ecosia has planted over 70 million trees since 2009.

Ecosia invests in projects and monitors the progress of every plant they put into the ground. Because according to Kroll, the founder of Ecosia, It's easy to plant trees but difficult to make sure they stay standing. Ecosia thinks we have enough space to plant over 1.2 trillion trees worldwide, which may completely solve the climate change issue.

Though Ecosia has a unique way to help mother earth, it is not totally an independent search engine. It is a part of the Microsoft Search Network and uses the algorithm of Yahoo and Bing. Ecosia has a browser plug-in and a mobile app. So, it's easy to use the search engine while helping to plant trees to keep the ecosystem better for our life.

Ecosia is doing great to keep the ecosystem great for us, and as long as it survives in the digital world,  hopefully, it will do it's best to save the real world.
